You and Me and Nothing
National Review of Live Art
6 February 2008
You and Me and Nothing continues Katherine's use of the body, and it's shift in position between object and subject, challenging the idea of the gaze and questioning who is watching and who is being watched.

Grass on Rabbit

Hi,
Yes would love to meet up, it seems ages and we haven't met up as a new group yet. Any day is good for me as I tend to work off the seat of my pants and never know where I am from one day to the next.
I have been concentrating on my work a lot more and living in poverty, but very happy. I will post a couple of examples of recent work.
I hope everyone is well.
I am also working at the Transition gallery in Cambridge Heath. The is currently a good show on called 'The Painting Room'. Its well worth a look. More info is on the website....... www.transitiongallery.co.uk

Meet Up?

Hi everyone,

Wondering how everyone is, and whether we are going to try and meet up? Or what motivation there is to build up some sort of dialogue etc.

I've had a really challenging few months, but am atlast in a position to work on moving things forwards once more. How is everyone else? I'd like to develop work dialogue, just as we had developed during year one of the mentoring, but maybe we could all post something re where we are at, and what we are up for currently. What we'd like/ are open to. If we dont' have the space for much input etc.

Not posting all this to be harrying, more that it seems like we either need to develop this thing (whatever we decide it might be) or not. Seizing the moment and all that.

Would arranging a meeting be a good idea? Or is it best to post stuff and get an idea of everyone's views?

Hope everyone is well and thriving,

xLucille

WYSING ARTS CENTRE RE-LAUNCHES

WYSING ARTS CENTRE RE-LAUNCHES : OPEN WEEKEND WITH OPEN STUDIOS

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th January 2008

On the evening of 18 January Matthew Collings will open the new and improved Wysing Arts Centre, followed by an Open Weekend when to launch our new buildings a gallery exhibition showcasing Wysing’s 24 resident artists will be on display and all 24 studios will be open to visitors.

In addition, past artists and exhibitors at Wysing have donated drawings towards a ‘benefit’ drawing show which will also be on display, with works available to buy at an affordable fixed price.

Over the past year Wysing’s Bourn site has been closed while we have constructed a £1.7 million building housing artists’ studios, administration offices, a dedicated education space, a new media facility, and reception and gallery improvements.

Our 11 acre site housing 24 artists’ studios, set in farmland, will be open every day during both exhibitions, which continue until 24 February, 12-6pm. Admission Free.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Wysing in the New Year
