Over five days a publication will be created that brings together aspects of the work of a group of artists. Folded, Glued and Printed will give attention to what may seem to sit to the side of their main body of work, yet these activities are essential, dynamic and paramount to the individual’s practice.
Folded, Glued and Printed will develop and grow from the artists work, with the space of the gallery containing the raw elements and process of the publication, to be made visible in its entirety on the final day of the exhibition.

RULES AND REGS AT
COLCHESTER ARTS CENTRE
Call for Applications:
Colchester Arts Centre welcomes applications from artists wishing to participate in Rules and Regs in Colchester (27th May - 6th July, 2008). Four selected artists will work to a set of Rules sensitively devised in response to their practices, as a challenge to explore new ways of working. The artists all work to the same Rules, culminating in a public showing of the work created.
All work will be created and presented on a (stationary) old London bus.
Participating artists receive a fee, travel and accomodation support and a small production budget and have access to an individually tailored professional development scheme, documentation of their work and a package of production support.
For a full application pack, please email anthony@colchesterartscentre.com or download from www.rulesandregs.org/cac08.html
Rules and Regs is primarily a development opportunity for making new work, rather than a platform. While programmers, curators, funders etc. may be invited to performances, the primary goal is to explore artistic practice.
Artists should not apply with a specific or existing project in mind, as rules are devised in response to participating artists' practices and revealed only after artists have been selected and agreed to participate.
Artists are expected to spend significant time in Colchester during the project.
This project is open to all artists working in live art in the UK.
TIMETABLE:
• Deadline for applications: Monday 29th February 2008.
• Shortlisted artists interviewed: Week of 10th March in Colchester.
• Artists selected and participation confirmed by: 28th March.
• Project launch: Tuesday 27th May (artists must be available on this date).
• Development period: Wednesday 28th May to Friday 4th July.
• Public performance / exhibitions in Colchester: Saturday 5th July and Sunday 6th July.
• Additional performances (TBC) scheduled for Saturday 2th July (Bracknell) and Saturday 26th July (Southampton) (artists must be available on these dates).
The project is a co-production of Colchester Arts Centre and Rules and Regs and is managed by Colchester Arts Centre and curated by Anthony Roberts.
